About Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy works on problem areas at a subconscious level. We can and do use the conscious mind to help to guide the process and to try on new ways of thinking, but the change happens at the subconscious level.

Hypnotherapy can help by changing patterns in the subconscious that seem to be out of our control. By relaxing the analytical mind and turning inwards, we can access those parts that are causing trouble and work together to bring about the desired changes.

About Cognitive Hypnotherapy

Cognitive Hypnotherapy aims to review your past, relieve problems in the present and move towards a more positive future. I work with you to focus on a problem area and find our why it's happening, how and when. I then use personalised techniques and hypnotic suggestions to help to resolve the issue and guide you in the direction of your ideal solution.

It is intended to be a short-term therapy, ranging from one to four sessions to work through a particular issue. But it can last for longer periods, if your issues are more complicated, for example, or you have more than one area  you'd like to work on.

As a Quest hypnotherapist, I use elements from different therapies depending on what I think will be most likely to bring about positive change for you. This might include other approaches like Parts Therapy and Non-Violent Communication, but as a former yoga teacher I can also bring in practices like breathwork, awareness, meditation and relaxation.

Areas Cognitive Hypnotherapy can help with include:

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Self-esteem

  • Confidence

  • Phobias

  • Eating disorders

  • Weight issues
